French culture and civilisation
You will discover the characteristics of French culture through discussions and work documents provided: gastronomy, daily life, history, traditions, etc. You will study how the language reflects the identity of the French and have fun comparing it with your own language, your own culture and your own identity.
Grammar et vocabulary
Each day, you will approach a different element of language (sentence structure, grammar rules, verb tenses) in the context of a specific communication situation. You will put it into practice and systematically review it at the weekend. Lexical enrichment is constant work, which you will carry out through work on specific themes (asking for directions, French for tourism, etc.) and various games and activities which will allow you to memorise the new vocabulary.
Written and oral comprehension
You will work with varied written documents adapted to your level. You will discover the language in its practical (train tickets, restaurant menus, etc.) and more elaborate applications (press articles, correspondence, stories, literary texts, etc.). You will enrich your vocabulary through contextual approaches. You will listen to varied audio documents adapted to your level (dialogues from daily life, radio bulletins, videos, etc.) to become accustomed to the sounds of the language and to decipher the meaning.
Written and oral production
You will communicate with the teacher and with the other students. You will express yourself in different ways: giving your opinion, giving an oral presentation on a subject which interests you, describing your experiences, preparing work as a team, and participating in role-playing games or linguistic games. You will learn everything while having fun. Depending on your level and your objectives, you will apply what you have learned in written work in class or at home.
